mykalcooper: Getting my things together for an operation tomorrow. I have had way too many surgerys because of my crohns and each time I still get worried about them. Fingers crossed by this time tomorrow I should be out of hospital and back home, I hope this happens as I dont want to be stuck in hospital on Friday as that would mean missing my sons first birthday party. Sorrt for the rant…

Crohn's post..
carynolaflove: As of yesterday, i’m down to 10mg of prednisone. But my body’s feeling it. I hate the first 3 days after tapering down my dose. My intestines hurt. My body hates me. I will never sleep. I’m surely going to die tonight. Damn you crohn’s.

Clothes and Bloating - Help!
crohnsandarthritis: We’ve discussed it before, fellow Crohn’s/UC ladies! Loose shirts, dresses, and tunic tops paired with leggings are your favorites for bloating and/or stomach ache days. But where do you get them? I have trouble finding long enough, loose enough shirts (tank tops preferably, I live in Florida), loose dresses, and plain tunic tops. Where do you shop? Target? Kohls? Forever...

Food anxieties?  →
ihaveuc: I don’t know how much this relates to anyone else, but when I developed IBD, I became extremely intolerant to lactose. I can’t eat a bread crumb with milk. I suppose I could, but something like meatballs, or muffins, places where you least expect milk or butter (even margaringes!), make me ill for…

Adventures in Au Pairing, Or Why I Struggle to...
Today my youngest child convinced her mother that she was too sick to go to school. We just moved from New York to Toronto, and yesterday was their first day at their new school. She complained of having a stomachache, and just wanting to sleep. Her forehead was hot, so her mother thought maybe she was feverish. So instead of getting my blissful six hours to do my own thing with the kiddies at...

I don't know what to do. →
seriouscircus: I start my spring semester on monday and last night I went on rate my professor, and it said that my psych professor doesn’t allow anyone to go to the bathroom during class. I have a note from my doctor from September and it wasn’t enough (not detailed enough) for an accommodation. And I…

Hospital Trauma! →
rupindah: I was thinking about this today. There are some things that I experienced in the hospital that have traumatized me for life. Examples: a) back pain. The first two nights I had my stoma, it blocked, and I had horrific back pain. Now when I get it I have flash backs and I begin to cry and have…

How Chronic Disease affects the whole family.  →
agirlwithguts: Yesterday on my facebook page I asked you if you ever felt like a bother for your family because you are sick. I think almost everyone said YES. The truth is, being sick affects the whole family. When you are diagnosed it’s like your entire family is diagnosed along with you. It’s not hard to…

I just got back from my yearly GI check up
No colonoscopy for me until 2013!! That’s about it for the news though. I’m doing well on Remicade and am not experiencing any stomach cramps or joint pain so we’re just gonna stick with that every 8 weeks.  -Stewart

IBD Strong Twitter?
ibdstrong: I’m thinking of making a Twitter to accompany this blog. 1. Is this a good idea? 2. Would any of you guys follow me/promote the page once it was up and running? Thanks in advance for the input. Hope you’re all doing okay :) EDIT: Twitter is now up and running. Click here! *2/18/12

I feel like I'm going to be sick...
I often get diarrhea right before my period. Since my period is still slightly irregular (every 21 to 24 days), I don’t always know if it’s a Crohn’s symptom, a reaction to something I ate, or my period. Stupid body. Bisous, Brita lackluster-epithymy: I hate it when I can’t tell if it’s my period coming on or Crohn’s cramps…

We’re here for you. Many of us have been through the same thing. Bisous, Brita thatgirljsto14: First off, what did I do to deserve this? I’ve lost almost all of my friends because of you. Crohn's Restaurant →
wadeszworld: This idea has weighed heavily on my mind so please read. I am tired of going out to eat with friends and literally only being able to order the same items on the menu. I would love it for one day a restaurant to be built where they have Crohn’s friendly food. Can you imagine that? Going to a place…

New guide to who really shouldn't eat gluten →
lifewithautoimmune: You’ve got abdominal pains, bloating, fatigue and foggy thinking. You feel worse after eating wheat or other foods with gluten, and better when you avoid them. Is it a wheat allergy, celiac disease or the power of suggestion, given all the buzz around gluten-free diets?
