People who tell me I just need to change my diet or exercise more and all my chronic illnesses will go away:

When Miriam Tucker attended a fundraiser luncheon celebrating the Tampa Women’s Club 65th year, she didn’t expect that it all might end in a colonoscopy. Life is full of shitty, yet amazing, surprises!
Share your best colonoscopy stories! Although it probably didn’t end in you getting a $5,000 diamond… Or did it?
Alright fellow Crohnies, my best friend of 20 years and I thought it would be a swell idea to start a new gluten free website. I know someone out there has drawing talent and would like to make a few extra bucks. Send a response to this and I will get in contact with you shortly.

Download the free my ibd app. A great tool to keep track of your symptoms, keep a food diary and use to present to your gastro.
I’ve been using this app for a few months and it is awesome! It’s so much better than writing things down in a journal because I ALWAYS have my phone on me. It’s super simple and free!
I’ll take any chance I can to find an upside to having Crohn’s
- I’ve made some amazing friends
- I have a different perspective on life
- It’s helped shape me into who I am today
one that comes up more often is how I interact with stress in my life
everyone deals with stress in some form or another and a lot of stress I can detect and deal with in a healthy way, but sometimes it’s not so obvious
when I get a cramp, no matter how bad it is I have to stop and think about aspects of my life
do I have an infusion soon?
did I eat something that may have triggered me?
am I stressing about something right now?if the first two are not relevant then I have to stop and think, why would I be stressed? Can I do anything about it?
sometimes I can figure it out, sometimes not
but usually I’ll do something to calm myself down and force myself to relax somehow, usually playing my Xboxbut it’s interesting how having Crohn’s has made me more aware of the stress in my life and forces me to deal with it rather than have it build up and then explode in a more negative way
a rant on the popular saying: “your health comes first!!!!”

This just happened.
